In history of mankind anybody is been involved in pursuit of joy, happiness, peace.

Countless have been the ways to achieve them and all of us may agree with some of them or refuse many others.

So now I wonder: what is really “joy” and what to do to unlock the secret?

Another answer, another path, one more way to add to the previous, the current and the future solutions…

Joy can happen plunging in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to find yourself playing two hours with an humpback whale and her calf; waiting hours before a polar bear suits the best position before the unbereable cold takes sensitivity of your fingers away.

Or maybe getting caught in the crazy traffic jam in Kolkata and portray a moment in someone’s life just before your nerves begin to collapse…

Heart rate can be sudden by an old awarded picture of you back at university, a forgotten time in which joy is a never ending fairytale.

You can feel happy when a dream comes true, for example when you finally see the highest mountains in the world; or you can feel grateful when you realize you succedeed to travel to the most remote place on Planet Earth or when your flight is in the right place in the right moment, and you get a shot of Bora-Bora that even professional shooters can be envious of!

Joy can wear the opposite side as well: places you had a great experience and now they are closed to travellers because of war or ethnic tension-will I be happy like then again?…

Joy can be a moment of intimacy or complicity with someone we deal for a short while-or even if we are just passing by and we share that special feeling in the air.

Happiness can be a strong handshake after a challenging bargaining, or visiting a Unesco Heritage place and finding out you are just few to enjoy it-no crowds around.

Joy can be a moment of intimacy or complicity with someone we deal for a short while-or even if we are just passing by and we share that special feeling in the air.

Or the fulfillment to seize the day holding breath to softly clicking a button.

Joy is realizing that History goes on, whatever it happens, and you have tasted the beauty of life in all the ages you’ve been passing through.

A quick eye-glance with an attractive woman-even if aware you’ll never meet her anymore.

Finally, coming back home: your birthplace looks so different. But nothing has changed, nor your eyes.

Because “Joy” has switched your soul to a different mood, a real new dimension of living: now the human being is finally ready to surf his existence.

Biography

He began to travel very young and in more than twenty years of travels and wanderings he managed to visit many countries, enjoying the beauty of the most far away and remote. Red Cross collaborations, team travelling and solo adventures, led him to unleash a nomadic vocation from the Alps to the Himalayas, from North Cape to Antarctica. He has been greeted in the most remote villages of the Pacific, met the Taliban, seen the highest planet peaks, diving in the most extraordinary spots in the world.

He has been cheated by taxi drivers, sometimes he did not want to know what he was offered in the pot, he has experienced the frustration that leads to the temptation not to travel anymore and the ecstasy of ever invent a new destination; he acquired new friends, met unwelcome persons, he has stood speechless to the most important archaeological sites to spot animalia usually seen in documentaries. He has fallen asleep in the silence and cold of the desert to wake up at the noise of the howling monkeys.

He is Giuseppe Caridi.
