I think of the sphere as the Earth that is being deconstructed and transformed into a shapeless body. This transformation happens mainly due to the overflowing energy of the particles within the sphere, a phenomenon which reminded me of unchanneled bursts of electricity.
Deconstruction was composed during the first lockdown in Spring 2020. The way our interpersonal relationships and networks got deconstructed and transformed since the pandemic began was an essential inspiration for the piece.
I wanted to present the exponentially rising infection rates as dynamic, explosive gestures, which ultimately relax into transparent textures as the “wave” sweeps through my metaphorical Earth.
