Poetry + Video

[smartslider3 slider=”poetry-video”]

La moderna videopoesia trova riscontro nella poesia iniziata nell’antichità come forma orale, ora nelle nuove tecnologie.

IN ABSENTIA is keeping on fostering screenings at the Cineporto in Foggia. In collaboration with Est-Ovest Danza, Stigmamente and Parole Contrarie, the art collective Semiosphera promotes meetings and side-events to The Wrong Biennial Digital Art. With the presence of Luigi Starace, the French filmmaker Jean-Patrick Sablot will be commenting at the screening.
We decided to promote events on the sidelines of the official selections of the Biennale, to facilitate the exchange of good practices among artists – says Francesca Giuliani — and with a good dose of curiosity we welcomed the proposals from other curators. The video poetry selected by Marie Craven does not points at the astonishment in technology, but rather declines its poetics in the silence of the voiceovers.
Our curiosity started from an “England” engraved on a wall of an abandoned military hospital on the Varano lake — continues Lino Mocerino — wondering who had been writing it in the days of his stay. Where did he come from? And so the Genius loci led us to the emotions of those who, after more than seventy years, speak the language of otherness.

This year The Wrong welcomes works by Bill Viola, Wolf Vostell and Nam Jun Paik, historical names in video art — says the french filmmaker Jean-Patrick Sablot who will introduce the screening — and this should put curiosity on the quality of a festival that, between innovation and tradition, succeeds in to restart the logos of a middle ground that has become an interstice.
Poetry + Video — concludes curator Marie Craven — is a traveling program of short films from all over the world, a one-hour collection that examines the contemporary canons of this form of communication, expanding its language in its declinations.
Something to look-and-feel.
