WRONG, an episodic animated series broods on notions of masculinity. RUE, a cutout caricature with a longing in his voice, pines through thoughts and experiences, struggling with issues between honesty and integrity. RUE is self-aware as a drawing and hopes to find an audience to express himself through his own avatar. The series began with the idea that if all the rules of storytelling are abandoned, what result occurs with a character.
Each episode demonstrates a WRONG trait for the quality of a man, so WRONG it leaves him as a sensitive and emotional grey sketch, without any definable motive, and the ideas he speaks of become melodramatic in a vulnerable way. The series asks if this is acceptable entertainment, or what could be called _angst_-ertainment… or is this
just WRONG.
Biography
Chilean born, Rubén Möller immigrated to Canada in 1971. He grew up with the customs of his homeland but broke away from his family as the Catholic burden of his culture conflicted with his life style. His works evolved in the dissonance of AIDS that burdens many from that era. As an independent animator in Vancouver, British Columbia, he found solace in the meticulous, painstaking methods to study movement and ambiance in an experiential form. He pursued film and digital production to evolve his theory and practice of immersive contemplative narratives.
Through his personal works along with television and theatrical organizations he strives to mingle these ideas into industry, education and produces works over many years to refine the Art of Animation.
